What is Split Limit?
Split limit auto insurance coverage provides different limits for different types of auto insurance coverage. Specifically, they use three numbers to specify the coverage levels for three different limits: the bodily injury liability for each person involved in the accident; the bodily injury liability for each single accident, regardless of how many are involved in the accident; and lastly the property damage liability for all property that was involved in and affected by the accident.
This is in contrast to single level auto insurance coverage where there is one amount that gives the maximum coverage for all bodily injury and property damage together.
