A man from Garrett escaped injury in an Indiana car accident Thursday night.
According to a report from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, 17 year-old Garrett-resident John F. Bradin was traveling south on County Road 7, just south of Indiana 8, shortly before 6:30 p.m. when the accident occurred. Police say Bradin lost control of his 2007 Ford 500 on a curve. The vehicle slid left of the centerline and collided head-on with a tree on the east side of the roadway, authorities say.
Bradin was cited for traveling at a speed too fast to avoid a collision, according to the report.
Police say a passenger in the side of the car was pushed into the center console of the vehicle. Neither Braden nor the passenger was injured in the accident.
Police say the car was totaled.
