Four people escaped injury in an Indiana car accident Wednesday.
According to officials with the Indiana State Police, the accident occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Interstate 65 near Indiana 205, near Rensselaer. A preliminary investigation showed 45 year-old Chicago resident Daniel Lee was driving a 1995 Ford pickup truck northbound on Interstate 65 while traffic was slowed or stopped due to ongoing bridge painting and shoulder work.
Indiana State Police Sgt. Tony Slocum said Lee did not see the traffic and rear-ended a 2012 Ford sedan driven by 63 year-old New Lenox resident Lola Duckman. What is an SR-22?
Posted on July 8th, 2011
An SR-22 is a document required as proof of financial responsibility for individuals convicted of certain traffic violations.
SR-22 certificates must be filed by an insurance company stating that auto liability insurance is in effect for particular persons. The certificate is required when insurance is provided to an individual who was in an accident or has been convicted of a traffic offense and, at that time, was unable to show financial responsibility. SR-22 forms and requirements vary from state to state.
If you currently have an SR-22 in one state and are planning to move to another, you must fulfill the SR-22 filing period for your former state. If you have already moved, you must still fulfill the requirements of your former home state. Also, you may need to speak with your insurance provider to make sure that your policy meets the liability requirements of your new state.
If you live in Indiana and are in the market for an SR-22 certificate, please contact Insure On The Spot to receive a free Indiana car insurance quote online, or speak with an agent by calling 1-888-972-SAVE.

The Different Types of Car Insurance
Posted on June 3rd, 2011
Before buying car insurance, it is important you understand the different kinds of coverage that are available.
Although you will purchase a single insurance policy covering a specific vehicle, there are a number of different components that contribute to the final cost. An auto insurance policy could include one or all of the following types of coverage:
- Bodily Injury liability: Covers injury and death claims filed against a driver.
- Property Damage Liability: Covers property damage claims filed against a driver. This coverage is mandatory in almost every state.
- Medical Payments: Pays for injuries sustained by a driver and the occupants of the insured vehicle.
- Uninsured motorist protection: Covers injuries caused to a driver or occupants of an insured vehicle by uninsured or hit-and-run drivers. Most carriers also offer “under-insured” coverage.
- Collision Coverage: Covers damage to your car up to its blue-book value. This coverage will carry a deductable that must be paid before the insurance takes effect.
- Comprehensive Coverage: Covers damage to an insured vehicle caused by theft, vandalism, fire, flood, wind, and other non-accident causes.
