Indiana Truck Accident Closes Eastbound Borman Expressway

A truck driver escaped injury in an Indiana truck accident Thursday morning.

According to officials with the Indiana State Police, the accident occurred shortly after 4:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the Borman Expressway near Broadway and Interstate 65. Police say a tractor-trailer hauling pallets of grapes lost control on the roadway and rolled over. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

According to the accident report, the eastbound lanes of the expressway were closed for nearly seven hours after the crash, while crews worked to clear the wreckage. The tractor trailer began being unloaded shortly after 9:00 a.m.

No injuries were reported in connection with the crash. The tractor-trailer cab sustained approximately $7,000 in damages, according to police.

I-65 Reopened After Truck Accident

A truck driver escaped injury in an Indiana auto accident Thursday morning.

According to officials with the Indiana State Police, the accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 shortly before 4:00 a.m. at the 11.8 mile marker in Sellersburg. Police said the tractor-trailer struck an abandoned car in the emergency lane, flipped over, and spilled its load.

The driver of the semi was taken to University of Louisville Hospital as a precaution and released.

The interstate was shut down for about three hours while the scene was cleared. The northbound lanes of Interstate 65 were reopened by 7:00 a.m. Thursday.

Indiana Truck Accident: I-70 in Putnam County

Interstate 70 was closed Friday at the 37 mile maker after a truck accident.

According to officials with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m. Friday at the 37 mile marker in Putnam County. Deputies say a tractor-trailer traveling east on the interstate, lost control and collided with a bridge support of the Putnamville overpass.

According to the accident report, the eastbound lanes of the interstate were closed while response crews worked to clear the scene of the accident. Deputies say the fast lane was closed and the slow lane will be closed as needed.

Indiana State Police request motorists avoid the area until the crash is cleared Friday afternoon.

Driver killed in semi-truck accident

A 60-year-old man was killed on Thursday when his semi-truck collided with another truck that was parked on the shoulder of I-65. The accident occurred around 5 a.m.

The driver was wearing his seatbelt but was killed upon impact with the other parked semi. An occupant of the other truck was taken to an Indianapolis hospital for observation, but neither man was seriously injured. The other truck was parked on the shoulder while the driver slept. The accident closed four miles of the north-west side of I-65.

Grain truck crashes on I-65

A grain truck traveling north on I-65 on Friday rolled over at the Indiana 43 exit, spilling its contents on the road.The accident occurred around 10:45 a.m.

The truck driver sustained no injuries and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. However, the on-ramp from Indiana 43 leading on to the interstate was closed for about five hours as maintenence crews cleared the accident. Lanes re-opened around 4 p.m. Police are still investigating why the crash occurred.
