Stricter driving laws in Indiana could prevent deaths

Posted on December 7th, 2011 No Comments

Stricter driving laws pertaining to teen drivers could prevent deaths in Indiana, according to a study.

One of the most effective regulations, officials say, would be the driver’s permit age.  By making the driver’s permit age 16 years old instead of 15, 49 lives in Indiana could be saved each year when a harsher law on driving exists in the state.

Teen drivers between the ages of 16 and 19, when not properly trained, are four times more likely to be involved in a car accident than other drivers. Indiana could also save up to $300 million each year if harsher driving laws were put into action.
